About Mike Meru
A board-certified orthodontist, Dr. Mike Meru has published multiple articles in professional dental journals, including the Journal of Clinical Orthodontics and Contemporary Dental Practice. Dr. Mike Meru has served as associate editor of the Journal of Clinical Orthodontics since 2012 and as a webinar editor since 2018. He currently treats patients at Alter & Meru Orthodontics in Thousand Oaks, California, where he specializes in braces, Invisalign, laser treatment, tooth whitening, and retainers. He also provides dental solutions for skeletal malocclusions.
Dr. Mike Meru is a diplomate of the American Board of Orthodontics and previously served on the board of the American College of Dentists for a decade. He founded the Student Professionalism and Ethics Association (SPEA) and was the executive director of the organization from 2010 to 2021.
A graduate of the University of Southern California (USC), Dr. Mike Meru earned a doctor of dental surgery (DDS) and completed a 3-year orthodontic residency at the institution. He also holds a master’s degree in craniofacial biology and an orthodontic certificate from USC.
